Prevalence of Thyroid Disorders among Somali Women of Childbearing Age at Mogadishu, Somalia

Background: Thyroid diseases are among the most prevalent of medical conditions, and considered disorders in women during their fertile years (15 - 35 Years), can adversely affect obstetric outcomes. The aim study was to determine frequency dysfunction Somali Women Childbearing Age at Mogadishu, Somalia.
 Materials methods: This descriptive cross-sectional Hospital-based conducted Jazeera University Hospital, Somalia period December 2022 April 2023. a total 100 subjects were included study. A five ml whole blood collected from each participant into sterile plain containers for thyroid hormones estimation. Estimation done by using ELISA machine (Maglumi 800). data gathered per-designed structural questionnaire SPSS 26.0 statistical software (SPSS Inc., USA) used analysis.
 Results: age population ranges 15–40 with mean 25.4 ± 8.11 years. There insignificant correlation between P-value 0.453. According BMI maximum respondents 42 (42%) grouped under normal BMI, 40 (40%) over weighted, 2 (2%) underweight 16 (16%) obese. family history found 51% where 49% them had no dysfunction. For laboratory diagnosis, Euthyroid 87 (87%) followed 8(8%) respondents, hyperthyroid 5(5%) hypothyroid.
 Conclusion: concluded that there is slightly higher Age.
